Q (by Minister):
Has anybody found a Tokico 6-piston caliper that will fit the 02-04
Speed Triple/Daytona 955? Sprint riders have fitted Hayabusa calipers
to their bikes, but the bolt spacing on the Speed Triple/Daytonas is a
little closer than on those calipers (90mm for the Sprint forks vs.
approx 85mm for the Speed Triple/Daytona).
I am sick of fiddling with the mushy OE Nissin 4-pistons on my bike,
and want to bolt on something that works as it should. Otherwise,
lovin' my Triple after 17K miles.

There is no known swappable caliper from another OEM that will fit any
of the 97-2004 series S3, 6 pot or otherwise. So if you want different
calipers, you will need to spend big $$$ on after-market.
It's debatable anyway how much benefit a 6 pot would actually be - the
GSXR 1000 racers of that era (01/02) would typically swap the 6 pots,
std on the 'big' bike, for the 4 pots of the 600/750's, claiming no
less braking power but better 'feel'.
The OEM Triumph front brakes on that series of bikes are really pretty
good - I would suggest you service the calipers & master as necessary
and get the capability back to original spec. I have GSXR Radial
Tokicos on my bike, but never had an issue with the OEMs, which I
think are excellent brakes - if properly conditioned.
Also install a good set of HH pads - EBC or Carbone Lorraine

I'm sure D'ecosse is the best authority on this, but I wish he'd said
something earlier! I bought a set of 6-pots only to find the spacing
is just off by a few (enough!) mm. I haven't bothered putting them
back on e-bay yet, just sloth really, but would like a set that does
fit. I guess there's none.
I do like my standard brakes though, especially now I've bled them
properly with speed bleeders and a mity-vac, they feel great, plus I
rebuilt the calipers and put in new pads.
I do like the look of gold 6-pots tho' :-)
Cheers
Barry
A3: (by DEcosse, che sorridendo rilancia un link ad un suo vecchio
post)
There are two sizes of 6-pot Tokico used on Suzuki - one from Hyabusa
& one from K1/K2 GSXR 1000
Neither fits your Daytona. (Hayabusa one fits Sprint or older T3
series bikes)
Because these are not radial, it makes the adaption extremely
difficult, I would say impossible even.

Post by elcesarPPS. non ditemi che la Beringer fa la pinza al caso mio perchè costa come
mezza moto!
